New Priest in Charge Appointed for St John’s, Stranraer and St Ninian’s, Portpatrick

The Rt Rev Kevin Pearson, Bishop of the United Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway, is pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev Dr Elizabeth Breakey as Priest-in-Charge of St John’s Stranraer and St Ninian’s Portpatrick, subject to PVG clearance.

Elizabeth’s Licensing Service will be announced in due course as a Diocesan Service as we welcome her into the life of the Scottish Episcopal Church and our Diocese.

Elizabeth says, “I am very much looking forward to coming home to Scotland to serve in Stranraer and Portpatrick and the wider life of the Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway.”

Bishop Kevin says, “I am delighted to welcome Elizabeth and her family to the Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway. Elizabeth’s appointment is significant, not only for Stranraer and Portpatrick, but also for the Galloway region and the Diocese, as we seek to make real the vision of building God’s Kingdom in and through our congregations and our Diocese in the twenty-first century. From Australia, Elizabeth brings with her a wealth of experience in drawing communities together and rooting churches in their local contexts through creative use of worship and local outreach initiatives. I am pleased that so many prayers for the right priest to come and lead the charges in Stranraer and Portpatrick into their next chapter of mission and ministry, have been answered in Elizabeth.”

Please pray for Elizabeth and her family as they move across the globe to make a life here in Stranraer and Portpatrick.
