New Priest in Charge Appointed for St Bride’s, Kelvinside

The Rt Rev Kevin Pearson, Bishop of the United Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway, is pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev Peter Bradley as Priest-in-Charge of St Bride’s Church, Kelvinside, Glasgow. His licensing will be at 12noon on Saturday, 9 March in St Bride’s Church, 69 Hyndland Road, Glasgow, G12 9UX.

Peter says, “For the past three years, I have served in a Central London parish, and I am now greatly looking forward to taking up the post of Priest-in-Charge at St Bride’s, Kelvinside. Some years ago, my brother moved from our home in Ireland to the West End of Glasgow. I have always been struck by the many opportunities there for mission, not least amongst young adults and their families, as well as the student community. I am excited to meet and work with the community at St Bride’s and indeed the wider diocese as I come to join the Scottish Episcopal Church.”

Peter comes to the Diocese from the Diocese of London in the Church of England.

Bishop Kevin says, “Our work with the Vestry over the last 18 months has helped us all form a view of the skills, talents and gifts needed to lead St Bride’s into its next chapter of ministry and mission. Our prayers that God might reveal to us the right person for this post have been greatly blessed when we heard of Peter’s interest in becoming the next priest at St Bride’s. He brings with him a wealth and depth of experience of leading a sacramental church in the midst of a thriving city area. It is with much delight and hope that we welcome Peter into the Scottish Episcopal Church and our Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway. Please hold Peter in your prayers as he makes his way north to join us soon and begin his next chapter of ministry here.”

Please pray for Peter as he prepares to move to the Diocese and looks forward to serving in St Bride’s, Kelvinside during the coming months.
