Priest-in-Charge post Advertised in the Galloway Region of the Diocese

Welcome to our Priest-in-Charge post application pack. We are looking for a missionally minded Anglican Priest to help the Charges of All Saints, Challoch & St Margaret’s, New Galloway establish a future ministry in their areas, engaging with the local communities and deepening the spiritual experience of God in Christ Jesus in all that the Churches offer.

Drawing upon the well of Anglican holiness and fresh explorations of discipleship you will enable these Charges to forge a future in ministry and mission in the localities they serve. These faithful congregations have worked hard to receive partial funding for these posts from the Diocesan Council, as well as drawing on their own assets. This is a time of establishing the future shape of the Scottish Episcopal Church presence in these places. The post holder will receive a full standard stipend – currently £27,540pa, a non-contributory pension and housing (council tax is paid by the Charges), and normal working expenses will be paid.

We look forward to meeting with you and exploring mission together in the Galloway Region of the diocese.

To support clergy in this diocese we have established a network of Pastoral Supervision to ensure that no priests are isolated and have the reflective resources they need to face the challenges and opportunities that ministry offers.

If you are from without the Province a full induction and support programme will be put in place to enable you to feel welcomed into the Scottish Province of the Anglican Communion.

For an informal conversation with Bishop Kevin please email him at bishop@glasgow.anglican.org to arrange a suitable time to speak about these opportunities.  We look forward to hearing from you.
