Bishop Kevin Welcomes Young Climate Activists to the Diocese

Bishop Kevin met with the Young Christian Climate Network (YCCN) pilgrims for breakfast yesterday, kindly hosted by the community of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Motherwell, the Rev Richard and Katharine Kilgour.

Stephen, a member of YCCN, who was confirmed by Bishop Kevin earlier this year, presented the bishop with a special, appropriately purple, #RiseToTheMoment t-shirt.

After breakfast, a good chat and a quick selfie opportunity, the group went on their penultimate leg of the journey which started back in May. Today, 30 October 2021, they finally reached Glasgow, ready to put their appeal forward to those coming to COP26.

The Young Christian Climate Network is an action-focused community of 18-30 Christians following Jesus in the pursuit of climate justice with four main political asks:
1. Reinstate foreign aid budget.
2. Provide the $100bn/year in climate finance.
3. Develop a loss and damage mechanism.
4. Wipe away debt.
