On the night of Sunday 18th September, thieves were once again on the roof of St John's Episcopal Church in Baillieston, removing lead only recently replaced following a major theft in March this year when most of the lead was ripped from the south side of the building. “We had only just began to dry out the walls which were soaked by rainfall following the theft of lead from our roof in March” said the Rev Andrew Richardson, the Rector of St John’s “the internal damage to the building is horrendous, the walls became so wet that radiators fell off and now we are contemplating further damage and further repair bills. This is not a victimless crime.”
