Full-time Priest in Charge sought for Lenzie

Posted Wednesday 25 April 2012

This post offers an exciting opportunity to rebuild a congregation in a relatively prosperous and growing suburban community approximately eight miles from Glasgow City Centre.

The congregation was approximately three times its current size throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, when it went through a period of conflict and rapid decline.  Now after 6 years of consolidation, where much has already been done to sow the seeds of growth, we are looking for a Priest, man or woman, who will enjoy the challenge of leading this small but highly committed congregation into the next stage of its life.

Ideally we seek a mission-minded priest with a track record of building a congregation, especially in the wake of conflict, and a facilitative leader who recognises the need to ensure that everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their talents to God’s work.

This is a full-time appointment for a fixed term of 5 years initially.  However, the congregation is confident that the right person could return the church to a fully self-supporting position and thereby secure the post in the longer term.

Mrs. Mary Boyd,

The appointment is subject to Disclosure Scotland check.
